One might think, Daschke is a unique name, you seldom find it in a telephone book. It might also have aristocratic roots: according to the Bodleian Library (Oxford/UK), the Princess Daschkowa (in german) wrote an important part of the history of the empress Katharina II. (1762-96).
But forget the illusion of
belonging
to an aristocratic tripe: there are more than 100 Daschke's in the phonebook
of
Germany!
Details: click Daschke and
insert the name in field "Nennen Sie Namen...". Then press Suchen.
There are thousands of names like Paschke, Blaschke, Jaschke, Maschke,
Raschke,
Zaschke .... all ending with *aschke.
According to my short research, these names seem to come from northern
Germany
and spreat all over the country. I found ancestors that have changed
(?)
their name to Daschka (Daska?). I would assume, this, because they
might
have moved to and lived in the german border areas of slav. speaking
Austrian
Monarchy, and there adjusted their name. But this is my guess! I could
not
find Daschka nor Daska as a common name in Czechia.
My mother, a native Hansel, made some intense research and traced
our
origin back to 1680.
